Would you like to learn more about starting or deepening your mantra yoga practice? Would you like to learn how to use mantra yoga as part of your physical yoga practice as well as how to deepen your meditation or breathwork using mantra? Join us at Triple Crane Retreat Center for this special summer session focusing on various forms and methods of mantra practice along with how to use the mantras in your yoga practice and daily life. Class meets twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays from 5:30 - 6:45 Sept 12th - Nov . Suggested Donation $108 If finances are an issue, or you would like to drop in class by class, contact Trevor at: trevor@triplecraneretreat.org Overview: Each class will consist of 30 to 45 minutes of Hatha Yoga and 30 or 45 minutes of teachings and practice on mantra yoga. Time: 5:30 - 6:45 Mantra Topics: Sep 12th - Nov 21st Overview of the types of Mantra Yoga including Japa, Kirtan, breath observation and mantra practice, and shanti mantra. Students will learn a simple tantric Ganesha Bija Mantra and how to chant it to increase Shakti in the body and stimulate the balanced flow of Kundalini energy. This teaching will help you understand how to use inner locks both in the mouth and pelvic/abdominal region to increase the power of the mantra. Sept 26th The famous Guru Mantra, chanted in My Sweet Lord by George Harrison will be taught and its meaning explored from a nondual tantric perspective focusing on the Harmony of Hindu theology. Oct 10th Om Namah Shivaya its meaning, origins, significance and how to use it in your yoga practice and daily life. Oct 24th The longer invocation Mantra Om Namah Shivaya Gurvae will be chanted and learned by students in attendance. This class is an in-person teaching to accompany the ebook explaining the meaning of the mantra. This mantra holds deep teachings and serves as a wonderful meditation practice in and of itself. Nov 7th Hare Krishna Maha Mantra in your Hatha Yoga practice and as a method of inner meditation. Japa and the scriptural origins of the mantra will be explored as well. We will talk about this profound mantra from a Universalist perspective and it usefulness for all yogic practitioners drawn to this mantra. Nov 21st Students will learn profound Inner practices using the mantra Om Shanti or Hung Sau. This method of mantra practice is a profound aid to assist us in meditation during our current time period and for deep meditation.
