Master Zhong Hai (眾 海) (Winnie)

 

Master Zhong Hai (眾 海), also known as Winnie, is the Chief Nun at Triple Crane Retreat Center.  Master Hai was born Yahui Chen in Taiwan in 1977.  She graduated from Hungkuang University with a food and nutrition major in 1999.

 

Yahui Chen was ordained as Master Zhong Hai in 2001 by the renowned Chinese Huayen Buddhist scholar and Chan Master Venerable Haiyun Jimeng (a.k.a Master Sea Cloud). Master Hai was a full time practitioner at the Great Huayen Monastery in Taiwan from 2001-2005, while serving monastery duties and the practice of basic Buddhist services.  She has been devoted to Chan (Zen) Yoga,  while traveling to many countries and attending dozens of yoga and meditation retreats with high achievement.  In 2004 she received a Class A Yoga Certification for a 21 day program at The Lakulish International Fellowship and Enlightenment Mission (LIFE Mission) in India. 

 

Arriving in the United States at the end of 2005, Master Hai continued her practice of Anapana Meditation until 2013 when she was instructed in Huayen Chan Kuan by Venerable Master Haiyun Jimeng.  From 2014–2016, she ran a number of teaching and coaching activities at Triple Crane Retreat Center and has continued her teaching and training path since then. 

 

With a number of teacher training programs (retreats) both in USA and Taiwan, Master Hai emerged as a competent, passionate and caring Chan and Yoga Teacher; actively promoting local programs in Michigan.  Master Hai is loved by many local practitioners and students who attend programs at Triple Crane.

In 2017, she earned outstanding recognition in the Huayen World teachers’ certification program (held at Great Huayen Monastery in Taiwan) and continues as Chief Nun and teacher at Triple Retreat Center in Chelsea, Michigan.  Master Hai is a devoted teacher and practitioner who is committed to Triple Crane Retreat Center, and to fostering in the community a welcoming atmosphere free of prejudice and open to all local residents as well anyone who wishes to pursue Chan, Yoga, and spiritual awareness and awakening.

Trevor Chaitanya Eller

Trevor serves at Triple Crane as the education and development outreach coordinator. He brings an extensive background in the healing arts, yoga, and meditation to his yoga teaching practice.  Trevor has been teaching Yoga for over 20 years and is the lead teacher trainer at Schoolcraft Community College and Triple Crane's 200-hour yoga teacher training programs. 

His approach to yoga is well-rounded, adhering to the spiritual dimensions of the practice while integrating western anatomical principles and modern views on mindfulness mediation.  He has lived in a number of yoga ashrams and traveled to India. He is passionate about making yoga accessible to people of all life phases and experiences.  He is well versed in mantra, mudra (hand gestures), pranayama (breathwork), yogic diet, cleansing, and herbs as well as asana (physical yoga).  He is well studied in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali as well as other yogic scriptures. 

Trevor’s ability to work with diverse populations comes as part of his Certification as a Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT), as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT), and from his training as an Ayurvedic Life-Style Consultant, with the American Institute of Vedic Studies.  Trevor is also a Stress Management Yoga Consultant through Integral Yoga as well as being trained as a teacher at their Intermediate level.  Trevor teaches online classes through Integral Yoga San Fransisco.   

 

Trevor is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has a private practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he practices Orthopedic Massage and Assessment Techniques, Thai Massage, and Myomassology: a natural outgrowth of Swedish relaxation massage that incorporates techniques such as trigger point therapy, energy work, reflexology, and neuromuscular reeducation.

Trevor is honored and grateful to be working with the Triple Crane Retreat Centers team.  He is dedicated and passionate to build a culture of practice for all looking to dive deep into their spiritual nature.
